Cukur Jambul.....Full Moon....

The beauty of diverse culture in Malaysia.....two separate occasions from my office colleagues.

First being my muslim colleague that gave birth to her 1st child 2 months ago...having the occasion for Cukur Jambul (cukur rambut) at a hotel in PJ. I was invited to this occasion and this being my 1st time to witness such event from the beginning till the makan2 part (kenduri)... Thanks to Shema and her family for the memorable invitation.....apart from the makan2.......ada gift jugak :)

Second, being the full moon celebration of another new born from another colleague the following day in which the chinese would also cukur the baby's hair.

The full moon package (look so modern now, also a convenient way for proud parents to thank all the well wishers)......What is inside this beautiful package?

Ang Ku (Nyonya Kueh), Eggs (dyed in red), Pickle gingle slice, glutinous nice (some came as nasi kunyit which I also had in the previous day at the hotel) and the WHOLE roasted chicken!! Oh my....how am I going to finish them??? :)

So, we have two separate occasions, from two different ethnics, celebrating new born in different ways....in which brings similar meaning to some extent, i.e. well wishes to the new born. That's the beauty of a multiracial country we have here in Malaysia.
