The Baby is BACK!!!!

Finally, after sitting in the Service Centre for 2 weeks (with some yelling and nasty words)....I was informed by the service engineer that I could collect the laptop from the service centre in Shah Alam early this week. This is a brand new laptop (current selling model) which I helped my cousin sister to get from one of the dealers in Low Yat Plaza.

Now it is in working order (touch wood)......hopefully no other problems will start cropping out after this (keeping my fingers crossed)

This little toy costs RM5,999 (PC Fair special price) ....but sadly just after 2 weeks it started to give some weird display problems. The whole display will end up with rubbish across the screen which you can't read and you have to reboot the machine, and then the same problem came back again :(

Being myself working in this industry and landed my 1st job on supporting the mobile computing group for a US based company years ago. I do understand the business is all talking about time to market to gain competitive advantage over rivals, make to order, low stocks and "low spare parts inventory", low margins and fast moving.

I know the situation wasn't good especially this happened after 2 weeks as most manufacturers would not entertain unit replacement for manufacturing defects that is more than 7 days from the date of purchase.

In most cases, after the product being launched into the market...the service centres do not have parts to support major failure which need parts or components to be replaced.

Coming up next......Experience dealing with the Customer Service.
