Traffics on the way back to KL on Sunday afternoon was horrendous.....still remember for the same occasion last year in which the Prophet Muhammad's birthday fell in the same weekend as the Cheng Beng, the traffics were at least doubled and even worse! After some 7hrs non stop travelling from Penang back to KL on the NS Highway.....I was still stuck at Tg Malim when my mom called to ask me whereabout.
So thought not to repeat the same mistake this year even with no other public holiday fell on the same weekend.....I left Penang a bit earlier since I know few stretches of the highway are undergoing upgrade/widening works which could potentially create bottlenecks to slow down the traffics....true enough, right after the Jelapang toll....traffics were at a crawl all the way up to the Ipoh South toll exit!!! Damn!
After the Ipoh south exit....thought traffics would be better....but then with the rains going on and off....you know what to expect exactly next.....yeap!!! accident!!! accident!!! and accident!!! gosh! I just basically gave up and decided to exit via Tapah in the end and used the old trunk road back to KL.....
Happily.....thought journey will be smooth after that though I have to observe a lower speed. Until I came to this.........OMG!!! What I have gotten myself into?? Flood water covering the road....
Tried to keep myself cool.....until the traffics came to a halt. No way......no way can the car drive through safely.... Nobody know how bad or what is the water level in front....no choice but to park the car and do nothing......everybody was like wait and look see how.....luckily the rain has stopped and within a moment police and pasukan penyelamat banjir came....they also can't do anything but adopt the wait and see attitude.
The river is just next to us after the bushes on our left.....river was running wild and water overflow everywhere. I told myself if situation gets worse I have to leave everything behind and run for my life......
After 50yrs of Independent.....we are still unable to address the flood issue effectively......millions of RM and lives lost every year when the raining and monsoon season hit us. Not only big cities hit by flash flood due to poor drainage but rural area like this one was not exempted either.....when can we effectively address the drainage problem been hitting the country for year??? Maybe I should adopt the attitude and tag this entry as "this is Malaysia....dear" no.2 .....matila aku kena tembak nanti.....sebab syiok tembak mat salleh arituh...hahahahaaha
